Mimi R. Primeaux, MS, BSN, CRNA


Mimi Primeaux, MS, CRNA earned a master’s degree from Medical College of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Mississippi State University.  She joined Ochsner in 1998 as a staff CRNA.  Ms. Primeaux has over 29 years of experience as a CRNA and 10 years of leadership experience. 

Ms. Primeaux is the System Director for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans Louisiana which includes oversight of ten locations throughout Louisiana and Mississippi.
In her capacity as System Director of CRNAs, Ms. Primeaux is responsible for centralized anesthesia operations for all locations.  She provided leadership and oversight of the anesthesia electronic medical record (EMR) integration for the Ochsner Health System and ensures that new facility acquisitions are also integrated.   Ms. Primeaux developed and implemented a new quality/pay for performance process for CRNAs utilizing value-based metrics She also serves as a consultant to outside departments on workflow optimization and effective operations.  She serves on several organizational committees.
Ms. Primeaux is an active member of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Anesthetists (LANA), American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) and American Nurses Association (ANA).   She served on the LANA Board of Directors from 2018 to 2020.
On a personal note, she enjoys spending time with her family and has been married to her husband Chad  for 20 years and has two wonderful children.

  • Oversight of quality improvement and patient safety initiatives for Anesthesia including representing the department on the patient safety executive committee and the system operating room committee
  • Development and Implementation of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) reporting and process improvements related to Operating Room time management.
  • Development and implementation of a CRNA leadership model, centralized quality/pay for performance processes and compensation structure.
  • Provide consultation to other departments to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
