Dr. Tavell L. Kindall is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and the

Director of HIV Prevention and Treatment at St. Thomas Community Health Center

in New Orleans, LA. He provides primary and specialty care; and education and

prevention services to adolescents and adults at risk for and/or living with

HIV and other infectious diseases. He became a professional nurse in 1998 and

has practiced in a variety of settings including medical/surgical nursing,

critical care nursing, emergency nursing, air medical transport, nursing

education, and advanced practice nursing. Aside from his LSBN duties, Dr.

Kindall currently serves on the Louisiana Commission on HIV, AIDS, and

Hepatitis C Education, Prevention and Treatment, and the Louisiana COVID-19

Health Equity Task Force. He is active locally and nationally in numerous

professional organizations in nursing. He speaks locally and nationally on a

wide range of nursing and healthcare topics.
