Governor Suspends Licensure Requirements for Medical Professionals and Personnel Licensed Out-of-State

The Governor’s office has issued an executive order that suspends licensure requirements for volunteer medical professionals and personnel licensed outside Louisiana. Per the executive order, all nurses who wish to provide gratuitous services in Louisiana should register through the Office of Public Health, Louisiana Volunteers in Action (LAVA) program at https://www.lava.dhh.louisiana.gov/index.php at 225-354-3569, 225-354-3573, 2525-354-3566 or dhhvol@la.gov. Any licensed RN recruited during the disaster period for paid nursing employment, must apply for a disaster permit with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. The disaster permit instructions/application may be located at  http://www.lsbn.state.la.us/Portals/1/Documents/Forms/DisasterPermitAffidavit.pdf.
